Background

Blair Liu is an Assistant Professor of Management Science in the Management Science Department of the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. Her research focuses on data-driven, empirical methods to address systemic challenges in healthcare delivery. She focuses on two central areas: workforce productivity and technology integration. Specifically, her research analyzes (1) how clinicians' work productivity influences operational outcomes, such as staff attrition, and (2) how technology adoption impacts hospital operations and patient results. Her research has been published in Manufacturing & Service Operations Management and Harvard Business Review. 

Blair earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her M.S. in Business Analytics from the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She previously earned an M.A. in International Affairs from Columbia University and a B.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University. Before her PhD, she worked at the Bloomberg Bureau of National Affairs (BNA).
