Graduate Leader Program

The Graduate Leader Program provides an opportunity for second-year graduate students (18 earned credit hours) of the Higher Education and Student Affairs M.Ed. program to learn how to effectively develop and teach a first-year seminar. There are two tracks to the Graduate Leader role: Graduate Instructor of Record or Graduate Co-Instructor. Information on the application process and requirements of the roles can be found below.

Attend the Graduate Leader Information Session  Friday, October 3, 2025
Application Deadline Monday, November 3, 2025
Interview with members of U101 staff November 10 - December 5, 2025
Attend the Teaching Experience Workshop (TEW) Friday, February 6, 13, and 20, 2026
Matching Process March 2026
Attend one Course Planning Workshop with co-instructor April 2026
Enroll in EDHE 834
Graduate leaders are required to enroll in EDHE 834 while team-teaching University 101. The course is designed to provide an opportunity for a supervised teaching experience. Grading is on an S/U basis.
