How Do I Apply?
Application Process
We are now accepting applications for fall 2026.
Please submit a New Instructor Application, current resume, and cover letter to our office at the Carolina Coliseum, Suite 1000 or to Dr. Dan Friedman at friedman@sc.edu. Your cover letter should address the reason for your interest, fit for working with first-year students, and any relevant teaching or facilitation experience.
If your highest degree is a bachelor’s, please use your cover letter to explain how working directly with students is a key part of your current role.
Please submit a New Ph.D. Instructor Application, current resume/CV, and cover letter to our office at the Carolina Coliseum, Suite 1000 or to Dr. Dan Friedman at friedman@sc.edu. Your cover letter should address the reason for your interest, fit for working with first-year students, and any relevant teaching or facilitation experience.
Please note that students with graduate assistantships of more than 10 hours are not eligible for this position. This position is also not open to incoming students - eligible candidates must have completed at least one year of coursework on campus at USC.
After Applying
Competitive applicants will be invited to meet with the Assistant Vice President for
University 101 Programs to discuss the opportunity to teach the course, preferences
regarding workshop dates, and next steps in the process.
