Research and Teaching Interests
Miranda Nixon is a graduate of Beloit College where she received her B.A. in Anthropology and Education. She is also a graduate of New York University where she earned an M.A. in International Education. During her time at NYU Miranda served as a Peace and Conflict Studies Leader and received the Samuel Eshborn Service Award. Miranda has extensive experience working cross-culturally and has spent nearly a decade living and working in multiple countries outside of the U.S. She has conducted multiple qualitative research studies and has presented her work at NAFSA: Association of International Educators. Miranda serves as the managing director of the Big Data Health Science Center. In her role, she manages the coordination and execution of the center's diverse catalog of programs and events including its NIH-funded training programs, pilot project program, seminars and workshops, and the National Big Data Health Science Conference. Miranda is a graduate of the USC HR-OPD Emerging Leaders Program and has completed the Managing High Performing Teams and Gamecock Research Administrators Network Training Programs.
