Research and Teaching Interests

Dr. Danielle Krobath integrates nutritional and social epidemiology with community-based participatory research to understand and prevent diet-related chronic disease disparities among U.S. children and families. Her research focuses on advancing equitable access to the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and other social safety net programs; identifying pathways linking racism and discrimination to type 2 diabetes, obesity, and hypertension risk in children and adolescents; and designing and evaluating Food Is Medicine interventions, including how they may influence chronic disease risk through dietary and stress-related pathways among youth and young adults.

* Currently recruiting PhD students and postdoctoral scholars interested in childhood nutrition, health disparities, social epidemiology, and U.S. food policy and programs.
