The McLeod Regional Medical Center – University of South Carolina PGY1 program is an ambulatory care focused year-long experience designed to equip residents with the knowledge, skills and confidence to autonomously manage an ambulatory care practice. The outpatient-focused resident will join three additional inpatient-focused PGY1 residents and a critical care PGY2 resident at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
McLeod Regional services patients across Florence county and surrounding areas, from the PeeDee region extending to the coast. Pharmacy residents will enjoy the benefits of affiliation with the USC College of Pharmacy, including an advanced Clinical Teaching Certificate program, residency research series, and faculty mentorship. The ambulatory care model will allow residents to collaborate and train alongside family medicine medical residents, offering cross-training and collaboration. Unique clinical experiences including specialty pharmacy, medication access, oncology and nephrology are available. Many fourth-year pharmacy students train at McLeod Regional to complete their advanced pharmacy practice experiences. Explore our program details below.
