Semester Reminders for Students

• Request your Faculty Notification Letters through the Student AIM Portal.This ensure your faculty are aware of the accommodations you are eligble for. 
• Remember to schedule your Alternative Testing request 5 business days in advance through your Student AIM Portal. 
• If you have been approved for Alternate Format Textbooks, please complete the Alternate Format textbook request form in your Student AIM Portal as soon as possible. 
• If you have been approved for a Reduced Course Load, please complete the Reduced Course Load request form in your Student AIM Portalas soon as possible.
• If you receive Assistive Technology as an approved accommodation, please ensure you have completed the sign up form to schedule a training. If you have utilized your technology in a previous semester, please ensure you have completed the appropriate release form. 

Semester Reminders for Faculty

• Review Faculty Notification Letters in your Instructor AIM Portal
• Complete the Alternative Testing Agreement with accuracy.
• Provide the SDRC with all exam materials by 12 PM on the day prior to the exam date.

Student Resources

Registered Students- Once registered with the Student Disability Resource Center, students do not need to re-register each semester. However, an update may be requested in circumstances where a student's disability or condition changes due to medication, diagnoses, treatment, etc. Here you will find information related to your registration and some helpful tools.

Faculty Notification Letters- To receive your approved accommodations for courses each semester, you are responsible for notifying your instructors of these accommodations through our office. Learn how this works to help your instructor accommodate you most appropriately.

Alternative Testing FAQs- Our Alternative Testing FAQs can help ease the understanding of our process and answer many questions that you may have.  

Student AIM Portal Tutorials- These tutorials offer students instruction, recommendations, and insights into the Alternative Testing Process for registered Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC) students who request to take their exams at the SDRC Test Proctoring Suite.

Assistive Technology- The Assistive Technology Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art accessible workstations designed to aid students with disabilities.

Genio Loan Release Form- This form only applies to students that are registered with SDRC, have approved Notetaking accommodations and have attended a scheduled assistive technology (AT) training. This form is to be completed each semester for permission to be loaned a license of Genio notetaking.

Faculty Resources

University faculty and staff are essential partners in making sure that all students have equal access to academic success. Access and Inclusion are shared responsibilities for the entire university community.

Classroom Accessibility- An open mind and a few minor adjustments can make a substantial difference in fostering the success of your students.

Alternative Testing- Help accommodate your students before the test begins!  Learning the steps to follow in advance of testing will help you, your student, and the SDRC work together smoothly.

Student Referral Form- Please use this form if you are concerned about a student or feel that they could benefit from accommodations. If this is an emergency, please call USC PD at (803) 777-4215 or call 911.

Accommodating Animals on Campus-This information is designed to provide the campus community with a working knowledge of the University’s guidelines on disability-related animals on campus.
