USC Centers and Institutes

In addition to the numerous Centers and Institutes housed in schools and colleges, the university has developed centers and institutes that are interdisciplinary and involve a number of faculty, staff and students across the campus. These initiatives report to the Office of the Provost.

The Anne Frank Center at USC

The University of South Carolina is the Official U.S. Partner of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, and the only partner site in North America. Visitors experience Anne Frank's story through a guided, four-room tour of the center located on the university's campus. 

Center for Civil Rights History and Research

The Center for Civil Rights History and Research at the University of South Carolina is dedicated to documenting the contributions of South Carolinians to the American Civil Rights Movement. The center includes a unique collection of historically significant documents, including the congressional papers of Rep. James Clyburn. 

Center for Interprofessional Education for the Health Sciences

The Center for Interprofessional Education for the Health Sciences at the University of South Carolina prepares students in health-related fields to work effectively in collaborative care teams. Through courses, simulations, and other shared educational experiences, the Center connects students and faculty from 13 health professional programs at USC to strengthen communication, teamwork, role clarity, and future patient-centered care.

McNair Institute for Entrepreneurism and Free Enterprise

The McNair Institute is empowering a new generation of creative, productive leaders who will be positioned to enjoy the benefits of free markets, create jobs and drive economic growth. The institute focuses on educating and directly supporting entrepreneurs, building community, and advancing entrepreneurism.

Rule of Law Collaborative

The Rule of Law Collaborative at the University of South Carolina is widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading centers for the study of rule of law. The collaborative is committed to the development of rule of law as a discipline, the advancement of theoretical and research-based applications in the field, and the refinement of policies relating to rule of law development.
