The Garnet AI Foundry’s AI Educators are a dedicated team here to support the USC community in the thoughtful integration of artificial intelligence. Their role is to explore emerging tools, share best practices and support peers in enhancing teaching, research and operations through responsible and creative AI use.

Services Offered

Our AI Consulting & Training service empowers teams across your organization to effectively adopt and scale AI technologies. We provide expert-led strategic advisory sessions, use case discovery workshops, and hands-on training tailored to your business needs.

This service enables teams to integrate and optimize ChatGPT for internal productivity, customer service, content generation, and more. We provide hands-on support to configure ChatGPT for business use, including prompt development, workflow optimization, and data integration.

Allows users to engage ChatGPT for in-depth research and analysis on complex topics. This service provides detailed, sourced information beyond standard AI responses, supporting projects, documentation, or decision-making needs. 

Enhance productivity across Microsoft 365 apps using Microsoft Copilot. This service provides configuration support, end-user enablement, and governance guidance to help organizations get the most out of Copilot in tools like Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.

Whether you’re building a custom chatbot, integrating AI into internal systems, or creating advanced machine learning models, this service connects you with our AI experts to support development, prototyping, and deployment. Tailored for teams with specific business-driven AI initiatives.

Adrian Fitzgerald Anderson, M.A. is an Artificial Intelligence Educator for the University of South Carolina’s Division of Information Technology. Adrian’s work centers on helping students, faculty, and staff understand and use artificial intelligence in ways that are ethical, thoughtful, and aligned with USC’s values. He designs AI literacy workshops, develops educational resources, and supports campus partners in exploring how AI can enhance learning while upholding academic integrity.

Adrian’s commitment to education is deeply personal. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Coastal Carolina University in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a focus on Academic Administration and Diversity, an experience that shaped his belief in education as a tool for access, equity, and transformation. He went on to complete his master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at Appalachian State University, where he further developed his passion for student success, leadership, and community building.

Before joining the Division of Information Technology, Adrian served as Assistant Director of Academic Integrity at USC. In that role, he worked closely with students navigating academic challenges, developed educational programming around integrity and AI use, and helped the university respond to emerging questions about technology and learning. His work is guided by USC’s Carolinian Creed, particularly its call to uphold both personal and academic integrity in all aspects of university life.

Above all, Adrian believes in teaching beyond the classroom. He is passionate about increasing digital, academic, and ethical literacy, and about helping students develop the confidence to engage with new technologies responsibly as they prepare for life beyond USC.

Kedralyn Folk, Ed.D.

Dr. Kedralyn L. Folk brings a strong foundation in instructional innovation, educational technology, and systems-level improvement. A native of Ehrhardt, South Carolina, she began her career in public education after earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from South Carolina State University in 2015. As a classroom teacher, she taught elementary grades, developing a deep commitment to equitable learning experiences and student-centered instruction.

Dr. Folk advanced her expertise with a Master of Education in Teaching from the University of South Carolina in 2017 and an Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from Coastal Carolina University in 2019. In 2022, she completed her Doctor of Education in Education Systems Improvement Science at Clemson University.

Before joining USC, Dr. Folk served as an Innovation Program Specialist in Richland School District Two, leading initiatives that integrated technology, design thinking, and collaborative problem-solving to enhance teaching and learning. Her work centered on empowering educators to leverage emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, to enrich instruction, improve access, and support student success.

In her role as an AI Educator, Dr. Folk is committed to helping USC communities navigate the evolving landscape of AI in education. She is passionate about building capacity, fostering innovation, and supporting meaningful, ethical integration of AI tools that advance learning for all.

Dr. Kushal Jha, Ph.D. is an AI Educator with the University of South Carolina’s Division of Information Technology, where he leads campus wide efforts to advance AI literacy, productivity, and responsible innovation. He designs high impact AI education programs, develops scalable learning resources, and partners with faculty, staff, and students to integrate artificial intelligence into teaching, learning, and professional practice in ethical and effective ways.

Dr. Jha holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Learning, Design, and Technology, with research focused on technology integration, faculty professional development, and instructional design in higher education. His work sits at the intersection of learning science, educational technology, and emerging AI systems, with an emphasis on practical digital fluency and measurable outcomes.

In recognition of his leadership and service, Dr. Jha was selected as the 2024 Commencement Marshal at Oklahoma State University for his contributions to advancing the university’s land grant mission through teaching, research, and outreach.

Before joining USC, Dr. Jha served as a Senior Training Specialist, Senior Instructional Designer, and LMS Analyst, where he led large scale faculty development initiatives and transformed institutional training practices. He designed evidence based programs using the ADDIE methodology to improve teaching performance, scaled learning experiences across dozens of courses and hundreds of instructors, and pioneered the integration of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, and Synthesia to reduce content development time. He also created a comprehensive Online Teaching Certification Program, mentored graduate teaching assistants, developed high volume online courses, ensured Quality Matters and accessibility compliance, improved faculty LMS proficiency, and optimized learning management systems through data driven, process focused improvements.

At USC, he champions AI literacy as a foundational skill, helping the campus community move from experimentation to confident, strategic use of AI tools that enhance productivity, creativity, and student success.
