Job Shadowing

The USC SpursUp Shadow Program is an opportunity for students to spend a day with site hosts in careers they are interested in pursuing after graduation. They can learn more about a specific job, build their professional network or explore a variety of career options related to their major. There is no better way to experience a potential career path than to see it firsthand.

Program Information

Job Shadowing takes place on ONE mutually agreed upon date between the student and site host, scheduled at any time during the SpursUp Program shadow week. The program is designed as a one-day, unpaid experience in which students visit the host organization to observe and learn about a career in action.

Each shadowing session may vary in length — some may last a full day, while others might only be a few hours. The agenda and details of the shadowing experience will be shared if you are matched with a host. Please note that job shadowing is not a multi-day internship. It should only extend beyond one day if both the student and site host specifically agree to meet more than once.

Please reach out to Sarah Blackmon with any questions.
