Write a Resume

Your resume is a brief highlight of the education, experiences, and skills. It is designed to attract the attention of potential employers and get you to the next step in your job search -- interviewing.

There are several types of resumes you may use throughout the lifespan of your career. Your resume should help employers clearly see the value you will bring to their organization. Show them you mean business.

Chronological Resume

This is the most common style of resume. It's one page, with work history in order from most recent to least recent.

Curriculum Vitae

Certain industries may ask you to submit a biographical statement called a CV or vita. It is usually three or more pages in length and emphasizes your qualifications and activities.

Federal Resume

A Federal resume is very detailed and includes information that is not typically requested in the private sector. It is generally two to five pages long.

Cover Letters

You first impression begins with an introduction. Make sure you cover letter is well-researched and customized for the position.
