New and Transfer Students

Students who are TSTM majors should contact their advisors directly for an advising appointment. A list of TSTM faculty advisors and contact information is shown below. If you are unsure who you advisor is, check VIP or call 777-6622

The TSTM program curriculum checksheet (linked below) and advisor lists are provided to assist you in preparing your course scheduling. The posting of this checksheet should NOT be considered a substitute for coordinating with your advisor in person!

To prepare for advisement, make sure you follow these advisement procedures:

Undergraduate advisement begins October 20. If you do not know your advisor’s name, please do the following:

1. Login to https://vip.sc.edu
2. Go to the "Academics" tab
3. Click the "Unofficial Transcript" link
4. Look for your listed "Advisor"
5. Return to Advisor List and match name with advisor

TSTM advisors are listed in the table below. NOTE: If you are planning to graduate in May, August, or December, please see Ms Norris for a senior check after you have been advised.

Each faculty member will have a sign-up sheet on his or her office door. Please go by your advisor’s office and sign up for a time that fits into your schedule. Please do not call the faculty member or the administrative assistant and ask them to put you down for a time.

Please work out a tentative schedule for spring semester and bring it to your advisement session. If you are not sure which courses you need, go by the TSTM office and someone will make a copy of your advisement sheet for you. Also, bring your work schedule to your advisement session if this will be a consideration in your class times.

During your advisement session you will be asked about possible summer school classes. If you are planning to go to summer school, please be sure that your advisor makes a note of the courses you are interested in for summer.

Please be prompt for your advisement session and if you are not going to be able to make it, call your advisor and let him or her know.
