Biography
Catherine Norris is an Instructor in the Technology Support and Training Management Program at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC. She teaches project management and business communications. She holds a B.S.N. from Marquette University and a M.B.A. from Cardinal Stritch University. In addition to teaching at the University of South Carolina, she has taught at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Prior to teaching for over 20 years, Ms. Norris worked in the healthcare industry. She has been an administrator of physician group medical practices for Aurora Healthcare of Milwaukee, WI, where she managed the operations of two busy multispecialty physician group medical practices. She was directly involved in contract negotiations, marketing of services, and the fiscal management of the practices. Ms. Norris has implemented many large projects over the years. She has overseen the facilities and services expansion of an Aurora Healthcare physician group medical practice that included the addition of a retail pharmacy, physical therapy, cardiology, orthopedics, and gastroenterology medical services. In addition, she has worked for Eli Lilly implementing infusion pump systems for hospitals across the United States. Ms. Norris was a Captain in the Army Nurse Corp upon graduation from Marquette University, and has directed emergency and intensive care services for Mercy Health Systems in Wisconsin.
